- A photographer named Nelis Wolmarans caught a wonderful moment through his camera.
- The gorilla was photographed showing gestures to comfort her gloomy keeper.
Humans are very much similar to the apes as scientists believe that people evolved from being an ape.
One of the similarities between the two is the body composure. There are a lot of body parts of humans that apes also have. As a matter of fact, if the DNAs will be scientifically compared, it would be seen that there’s only about 1.6% difference in it.
Although some might not be convinced due to the other aspects, apes are also impossible to tell apart from humans when it is based on the emotions.
To prove the statement, a male photographer named Nelis Wolmarans got lucky enough to capture a rare moment showing a wonderful bond between the two species.
A photo of Matabishi the gorilla was taken while she was simply sitting beside her keeper – who looked like he was going through a hard time.
Furthermore, the mammal showed affection to her keeper by holding his hand. It can also be seen that the keeper looked as if he was slightly surprised by the kind of gesture the animal showed him.
According to the photographer, “It’s clear that the gorilla and carer trust each other.”
Based on the photos, the gorilla was showing genuine concern for her keeper as a proof that she had created a wonderful relationship with a human despite their differences.
Aside from the small gestures, Matabishi also hugged him to cheer him up.
“You can see they are a constant source of comfort to each other, and there to support each other with friendship and unconditional love when they need it,” he added. “I love capturing touching moments such as these.”
Wolmarans took the photos at the Senkwekwe Mountain Gorilla Orphanage in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa, where four mountain gorillas are well taken care of.
“The deep emotional bond is heart-warming to see and the gorillas both draw comfort from and give comfort to their caretakers.”
This emotional moment shows that animals have feelings as well.
If animals are treated well constantly, they will learn to open up and be reliable, just like how humans are.
