Parents’ nightmare

This latest toy in China brings new nightmare amongst Chinese parents. A new pellet-shooting mini crossbow gradually picks up popularity in the outskirts of China. The toy is hand-sized, perfect for little kids. But this little thing can fire not too far away from ordinary guns. It shoots small metal BB pellets that are dangerous enough to penetrate fruit, crack glass bottles — and even shatter human bones.

The price is right

With its inexpensive price costing to 33 Yuan (250 php), kids can easily buy and access one. In a report by the Legal Evening Post, the makers of the laser-equipped crossbow also used to manufacture crossbows that shot wooden toothpicks. They wanted to build a less dangerous version of it so they moved on to making these BB-pellet operated bows.

However, the toys still appear to be available online.

Worse, the search rates of the toy on Miaopai, streaming site, are extremely high and it leads to a series of posts directing people to phone numbers from which you can get the crossbows.

Despite the influence of this dangerous toy, the Chinese government still hopes for everybody to be safe and not get hurt by the BB crossbow.
