- A Facebook user named Seggo Loberes shared a wonderful occurrence on his social media account.
- He and his friend Josh Rabanal was inside a car when they saw a naked and barefooted kid walking alone.
Summer is finally over, and we have reached the perfect time to cover ourselves with thick blankets or wear our jackets.
However, not everyone can protect themselves from a cold weather as they might not own any jackets or any piece of clothing just like the street children. For them, food is not accessible at all times, and so is clothing.
Most of the time, we see people in the streets covering themselves with cartons or garbage bags just to lessen the cold.
The exact same thing was witnessed by two men while they were waiting inside the car. Seggo Loberes and Josh Rabanal saw a street kid who isn’t wearing any clothes to protect himself from the cold weather.
Loberes shared the story on his Facebook account to encourage the public not to hesitate in helping those in need.

They were waiting inside the vehicle when a street kid caught their attention. The young boy was wearing no clothes and was walking barefoot all by himself. At first, they were joking that the kid might look like them, but their true intention was admirable.
To be able to know more about these two, we have reached out to them to ask for more background to the story.
According to Loberes, it was his friend who made the move to help the kid. He was kind enough to help us reach Rabanal and ask for a short interview with him.
We asked Rabanal what came into his mind when he saw the kid, to which he responded with: “Naawa po ako at nalungkot para batang yon. Nung nakita ko po sya ay sobrang nahabag po ko sa kalagayan nya, palakad lakad na walang kasama at walang pa pong damit na suot.”
Considering that there are some street kids who usually try to hurt others, we also wanted to know if there was a hint of fear while he was interacting with the child.
“Kapag mabuti ang intensyon mo sa isang tao, wala ka dapat katakutan. Hindi rin po siya yung tipong bata na nanakit at kung magalit o manakit man sya ay choice nya na po yun.”
“Sobrang sarap po sa pakiramdam dahil nakagawa ng maganda sa kapwa ko. Nung time din na sinusuotan ko siya yung tipong gusto nya rin isuot kasi po kapag sinabi ko na taas mo isa mong kamay, iaangat nya nalang po.”
Let’s admit it: not everyone can do what Rabanal did. Some of us are maybe terrified of street kids because they are a little aggressive, but Rabanal wants the public to know that not all street kids are the same.
“Subukan pong nating lapitan at kausapin po sila. Kasi di naman po lahat ng bata sa kalye ay masasama. Kung alam naman nila na maganda ang intensyon niyo sakanila ay hindi sila mananakit. Huwag po sana nating pairalin ang takot sa pagtulong sa mga nangangailangan at sana manaig na lang po sa bawat isa ang pakikipagkapwa tao kahit sa simpleng bagay lang katulad nito.”
At the end of the day, helping doesn’t have a specific value. Helping others isn’t a kind of requirements where one must complete what a person needs before doing something to help, given the fact that not all of us have all the means to help.
Helping doesn’t have to be big. What matters is we are sincere when we help. In times like this, may it reminded us that giving and showing kindness to a stranger is a great thing to do, not just a fulfillment of oneself, but for the greater glory of someone above us.
