- Miss Q&A contestant loses leg after road accident
- Jennifer Collins needs your help in any way
After making us laugh in an episode of Showtime’s Miss Q&A, former contestant Jennifer Collins battles what could be the biggest adversity in her life.
Accidents happen
It was an ordinary day for the transgender beauty queen until the tricycle she was riding got hit by an overspeeding jeepney. A good friend and co-pageant goer of Collins, Jam Arenas, reported the incident online. It instantly earned the sympathy of people, and support showered the fallen queen.
In Arenas’ post, she said that the jeep was too fast and the driver was drunk and might be drugged. The casualty on Arenas’ body was too strong, her right leg needed to be amputated.
Second life
Despite the unfortunate news, Collins and family remain thankful that the queen was given a second life. “Malaing pasasalamat pa rin sa Diyos na siya ay binigyan ng panibagong buhay,” Aranas said.
She is currently admitted at the Philippine General Hospital and is conscious now. But she needs to stay hospitalized to regain her strength and physical stability.
Biologically, her name was Jayson Jiz Ortega and she is the breadwinner of the family. She works during the day as a real estate agent, and she joins gay pageants at night.
