Kakai Bautista, a singer-actress, had something to say about mothers who decide to become pregnant but lack the financial means to raise a child.
Bautista decided to address the issue in a Facebook post on October 21.
She advised women to postpone pregnancy until they had saved enough money to raise a family.
The 44-year-old artist wrote, “Maawa ka sa batang hindi makakain nang tama, makakapag-aral nang tama at hindi mo mabibigyan ng magandang future dahil lang GUSTO mong magkaanak nang hindi mo plinano at pinag-isipan,”
She said those who are raised in less privileged homes are doomed as they’d struggle to meet even the most basic needs.
Bautista said there is nothing wrong with a woman who doesn’t want kids but there is with women who can’t raise their children properly.
She added, “Mabuhay ka within your means. Sa mga bagay na kaya mo lang isustain.”
Teenage pregnancy is one of the country’s major social problems as a result of a poor family planning culture. Aside from that, unintended pregnancy is a problem for both women and children.
