The three actresses notably campaigned together for the presidential bid of former Vice President Leni Robredo.
One of the things that the press observed during the press conference of the MMFF entry, Family Matters, that was held last December 7, was the closeness of the three female cast members, Mylene Dizon, Agot Isidro, and Nikki Valdez.
It is one thing the crowd should not be surprised about, though, as the three talented actresses have something in common: they all supported the same presidential candidate in the 2022 national elections.
Dizon talked about the friendship they formed during the campaign season. She also shared how they have been able to keep it, and whether politics was a common topic among them when they were shooting their movie.
The actress said they had fun. The three were notably among the most visible actors who participated in the Leni-Kiko people rallies, where they often served as hosts or performers. She said, “It was worth talking about over and over again. Ako nga kinukwento ko sa mga anak ko nang paulit ulit. Sasabihin ng anak ko…’ulit ulit’?”
Aside from their participation in the election, the three actresses also frequently worked together on various ABS-CBN projects. In Family Matters, Dizon and Valdez play as siblings, while Isidro plays the wife of Nonie Buencamino, who plays the eldest child in the family.
Family Matters is a heartwarming tearjerker that tackles the conflict within the family, and how every member confronts the challenges to keep the family’s foundations together. The film opens on Christmas Day, December 25.
