Filipino professional boxer Milan Melindo had netizens laughing after he almost exposed himself to everyone during a weigh-in for a title bout.
Melindo and other fighters were at a mall in Cebu to do a weigh-in a day before the fight.
When it was Melindo’s turn, the scales said he was a bit over the 125 lb limit. To try and lose weight, Melindo removed his underwear and weighed himself again.
A bunch of people holding shirts surrounded the boxer.
After he weighed-in one of those people somehow forgot that Melindo was naked and just removed the shirt he was holding up.
Fortunately, Melindo was quick enough to hide his private parts using his hands.
People were visibly laughing, including the boxer. The promoter even made a joke about Melindo almost exposing himself.
At the Cebu City Sports Complex, Melindo outclassed his Thai opponent Chaiwat Buatkrathok, beating him via a unanimous decision to win the vacant Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) Silver featherweight belt.
The boxer declared, “It’s my first time-fighting at 126 and I had a lot of adjustments that I needed to do. I’m still not that comfortable and I wasn’t able to completely dominate the opponent. I just used the sweet science of boxing.”
He shared, “There was a time when I felt that I could have knocked him out but I didn’t take any chances because when he fought Gaballo, he still stands up and throws punches. He sacrifices his body to land his punches. You need to be wise and not risk it because he’s a knockout puncher. This was a risky fight for me from the start because I was fighting in his weight division.”
Melino is known as a skilled fighter despite being “pillow-fisted”.
