A TikTok user has gone viral after sharing a video of her estranged father who failed to recognize her after being away for two decades.
Xyra Redulla’s TikTok post seemed like a plotline from a soap opera. She recounted how she encountered her father again in a church after 22 years, only to be unrecognized by him once more.
“Nagkita kami ni papa sa simbahan after 22 years pagkatapos mag ‘peace be with you,’” she shared.
She explained that she was only three years old when her father left their family, so she knew that he would not recognize her.
But that didn’t stop her from crying, as seen in the video.

“Ayoko maging emotional pero bigla na lang tumulo luha ko. Hindi ko kasi inexpect sa loob kami ng simbahan unang magkikita,” she said.
In an updated video, Redulla approaches the man and asks for his name. He said his name was Mario Diaz and left the church shortly after.

Redulla continued crying as she narrated her experience.
“Gusto ko siya pigilan kaya binanggit ko buong pangalan ni papa pero dali-dali na siyang lumabas. Naiyak na lang ako nang sobra bakit ayaw niya ako kausapin?” she said.
She didn’t share the moment with her family because they despise Diaz. Her cousin later confirmed that Diaz was indeed her father.
