Sen. Cynthia Villar gets viral after a video showing her berating a security guard surfaces online

The footage shows Villar grabbing the guard’s arm while another man, allegedly his supervisor, pleads with the senator not to hurt his employee.

Senator Cynthia Villar has been viral following a video of her scolding a private security guard and his supervisor.

The video shows them placing barricades on a road section in Las Piñas that she had previously cleared of informal settlers.

The video, which lasted six minutes and 32 seconds, was shared on Facebook by JC DELA CRUZ WORLD. It has received both praise and criticism, which showed Villar confronting the two individuals for erecting metal barriers on the road.

Her office has not yet released a statement.

As of last night, the video had garnered 2.8 million views, 56,000 reactions, and 19,000 comments.

The footage shows Villar grabbing the guard’s arm while another man, allegedly his supervisor, pleads with the senator not to hurt his employee.

Villar denied harming the guard and instructed the man to leave.

“Hindi ko sinasaktan ang guard mo. Umalis ka rito! Ako nagtanggal ng lahat ng squatter dito. Hindi ko nga ito napakinabangan eh, ngayon ikaw na ang nakikinabang,” she said.

The senator added, “Bakit, kaya ko bang saktan ‘yan? Ano ‘yan, bakla?”

Netizens disliked what Villar did.

An observant individual who uses the internet noticed that the specific location that made Villar angry and was blocked off, is actually situated in BF Resort Village. This is not on Zapote River Drive as some online users originally thought.

The area was designed to be a public space within the village, but entry has been restricted because of the barriers.

Prior to this clarification, some people online assumed the event occurred on Zapote River Drive. This is a development that Villar supported and was launched in 2021.
