People have been wondering if former Manila mayor Isko Moreno will be a regular host for the revamped noontime show ‘Eat Bulaga’.
During an episode of the show ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ on Thursday, Moreno’s manager Wowie Roxas confirmed that TAPE Inc. had offered Isko a hosting job.
However, the former politician has not yet signed a contract.
“Nasaan si Isko? He’s testing the waters,” Boy said.
“Nakikiramdam kung siya ay tatanggapin, kung siya ay yayakapin ika nga ng sambayanang Pilipino and he’ll take it from there,” he added.
Boy shared that he had a phone conversation with Isko prior to the show, where the latter expressed his immense joy in serving the Filipino people once more.
“Second nature sa kanya ang pagtulong, at ang sabi nya ay this is his way of coming home dahil dito nagsimula si Isko Moreno sa ‘That’s Entertainment’ and ‘GMA Supershow,’ Boy said.
Isko also had the chance to talk to PEP on the matter.
He said that it would be an honor if TAPE hired him as a permanent host.
“Well, I’m honored and I’m humbled with the opportunity.
“Mahirap fill-up-an ang naibigay na legacy ng Tito, Vic, and Joey sa buhay nating mga Pilipino, sa Pilipinas at sa 44 years.
“We have to give it to them. It’s really a big challenge na sumuot sa sapatos nila.
“Hindi man natin mapantayan, but ang importante, yung magpatuloy ang pagpapasaya sa tao at pagtulong sa tao through Eat Bulaga!, GMA-7, Kapuso,” he shared.
According to Isko, he didn’t need to seek permission from TVJ before accepting the project, but he reportedly sent them a message as a courtesy.
“Hindi naman, nagpa-abiso naman ako in advance as a matter of respect, through a common friend,” he said.
Isko made his first appearance on Eat Bulaga! on June 10, 2023, which was five days after the relaunch of the noontime show following the departure of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon from TAPE.
