The newly logo of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) unveiled on its 40th anniversary was mocked by netizens.
The logo, which cost P3.03 million according to the government, was revealed to the public on Tuesday, July 11, at the Marriott Hotel Manila.
The unveiling event was attended by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
“The new PAGCOR logo incorporates the element of fire associated with energy, inspiration, passion and transformation. It symbolizes the flame that ignites change and drives progress,” said PAGCOR Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro Tengco.
“The logo likewise reflects a beacon which symbolizes guidance, leadership, and direction. It represents a guiding light that helps people find their way,” he added.
The logo has been valued at millions of pesos, based on the ‘notice of award’ dated July 27, which was given to a Francisco Diplon.
Diplon quoted a price of P3,035,714.28 for the design, excluding value added tax and zero-rated transactions.
According to the bidding projects section on the official website of PAGCOR, Diplon is said to be the proprietor of Printplus Graphic Services.
Because the logo was pricey yet simple, netizens proceeded to mocking it, saying that it looks like the Petron logo and more.

The recently criticized logo of PAGCOR is the latest government agency branding to receive public backlash, following the controversy surrounding the Department of Tourism’s ‘Love the Philippines’ campaign.
Established in 1977, PAGCOR is a government-owned and controlled corporation responsible for regulating games and casinos in the country. Its revenues are aimed at supporting the government’s socio-civic and national development programs.
PAGCOR claims to have contributed P607 billion to nation building over the past four decades. Since 2011, the corporation has provided dividends amounting to P64 billion. In the first year of President Bongbong Marcos Jr.’s term, PAGCOR has reportedly allocated P45 billion.
PAGCOR is mandated to provide funding for the implementation of the Universal Healthcare Law. It also intends to utilize its resources to promote education and health through collaboration with stakeholders.
