A clip shared on social media suggests the actor-politician may have suffered a type of stroke.
Netizens expressed their worry on social media upon seeing a clip shared by news reporter, Ely Saludar, on the evening of September 12. The said video clip featured Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando being asked to deliver a speech in front of his constituents.

However, seconds into accepting the microphone, the actor-politician’s uneasiness was already apparent. He took several pauses and looked as if he was struggling to make a sound. At first, it was easy to be convinced that Fernando had simply lost voice, some may have assumed he was drunk.
A few more minutes into the video and one can see the governor already shaking his head and facing touching his forehead. He made efforts to speak but to no avail. At such moment it was already apparent that he was not feeling well. It was then that two gentlemen started escorting him away from the stage, and murmurs in the venue began to gather volume.
As of writing (7:40 AM of September 13), the office of the Bulacan Governor is yet to publish a statement regarding the current state of health of Fernando, or if, he as most suspected, indeed suffered a mild stroke.
Netizens gave their thoughts and theories about what might have happened to the governor.

“Parang same siya sa nangyari kay Boobay. I hope gov is okay and recovering, ” theorized @imryemacalatan, expressing wish for the governor’s recovery. He was referring to a similar incident to the comedian, Boobay, who suffered a mild stroke during his interview with the TV host, Boy Abunda, on GMA Network.

Nikki recalled a time when his own father suffered a similar attack. “I think he had a stroke? My father went through an episode like this. Nagiinstruct sa mga panday biglang di na makapag salita all he did was smile, ” she posted on X.
Similarly, Iñigo recalled a familiar incident involving American lawmaker, Mitch McConnell, who, like Fernando, suddenly went mute and frozen, while delivering a speech.

X user, MR CLEAN, suspects the attack may have been linked to not taking a pause at work, “he is overworked, he needs rest, ” his post reads.
Let’s hope the good governor is okay and is now recovering from whatever health issue he has gone through.
