Filipino singer Kyla recently opened up about her struggles with recurrent miscarriages in a heartfelt interview with Ogie Diaz on his YouTube channel.
Kyla, known for her powerful voice and soulful ballads, shared her profound experiences and emotions, providing a glimpse into the challenges she has faced on her journey to expand her family.
The singer, who has experienced four heartbreaking miscarriages, has been open about her fertility struggles.
After the birth of her first child, Toby, Kyla and her husband, Rich Alvarez, decided to wait before having another baby. However, their journey to expand their family was marked by a four-year gap before taking the decision to have a second child.
In 2018, Kyla became pregnant but faced two miscarriages within the same year. She began the year with one miscarriage and ended it with another. The challenges were compounded by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Kyla had initiated treatment following her first two miscarriages but was compelled to discontinue due to health and safety concerns associated with the virus.
Kyla expressed her deep desire to provide a sibling for Toby, who had been eagerly waiting for one. The multiple miscarriages took an emotional toll on Kyla and her family, as they had fervently prayed for and hoped for another child, only to see their hopes dashed repeatedly.
Kyla candidly revealed that the miscarriages led her to question her faith and God’s plan for her family. The experience was particularly heart-wrenching, as it felt like a cruel twist of fate to have something given and then taken away.
Despite the immense challenges, Kyla eventually found solace in her faith, understanding that God might have different plans for her family. She believes that everything God desires ultimately serves a greater purpose and is for the best.
Kyla also shared how she experiences the presence of her four angel babies during rainfall. To her, the sound of raindrops resembles the laughter and playfulness of her children. She recounted how she often dreams of giving birth to her babies and occasionally dreams of taking them to school. Waking from these dreams sometimes brings tears, as she longs to see her children’s faces.
