Melai Cantiveros was once pleaded with by a Kapamilya executive to tidy up because she’s already a celebrity

Comedian and Kapamilya host Melai Cantiveros shared a humorous incident during an interview with Kapuso star Bea Alonzo, recalling an amusing encounter with Star Magic Head Direk Laurenti Dyogi.

According to Melai, Dyogi urged her to enhance her appearance, citing that fans taking pictures with her looked more like artists than she did.

This conversation happened after Melai emerged as the Big Winner in ‘Pinoy Big Brother’.

Amusingly recounting the moment, Melai shared, “Alam mo ba Bei, nagmakaawa sakin si Direk Lauren. ‘Melai, please maawa ka,'” narrating Dyogi’s plea.

“‘Bakit Direk?’ ‘Mag-ayos ka na dahil artista ka na.’ Kasi nakita niya doon sa mga nagpapa-picture sa akin mas mukha pang artista ‘yong nagpa-picture. ‘Okay direk,’” she humorously recalled.

In a fair assessment, Melai has indeed undergone a positive transformation when comparing her current photos to earlier ones, distancing herself from her appearance during her earlier days that endeared her to the public.

However, Melai’s humor, spontaneity, and naturally funny demeanor have remained unchanged, endearing her to the public to this day.

Melai Cantiveros is gearing up to lead the cast of the action-drama film ‘Ma’am Chief,’ which was shot in South Korea. Scheduled to premiere on November 15, the film also features special appearances by stars Lee Seung-gi and Do Ji-han.
