Marco Gumabao reveals possibility of future plans with Cristine Reyes after annulment confirmation

In a recent interview with Boy Abunda on February 1, Marco Gumabao expressed his openness to the idea of settling down in the future with his girlfriend, Cristine Reyes.

While emphasizing their current focus on strengthening their relationship, Gumabao shared that discussions about their shared future have become a regular part of their conversations.

The actor stated, “Of course, basta ang usapan namin is ‘yung future together,” indicating a commitment to a long-term relationship. However, he added that specific details about their plans, including marriage, are being discussed gradually as they navigate their journey together.

Reyes supported this sentiment, underscoring the significance of communication and trust in sustaining their relationship. “Communication, importante po ‘yun. And building trust. Trust is not built in a day — it should be every day. Kailangan niyong pahalagahan ang relasyon niyo, at irespeto niyo ‘yun,” she emphasized.

Gumabao highlighted the central role of God in their relationship and acknowledged the importance of prayer to stay strong against potential temptations, particularly considering the challenges posed by their industry. “Of course, we’re here in an industry where we work with other people and temptation is always there. It should always be a prayer na ilayo ka sa temptation,” he shared.

During the interview, Reyes confirmed that she and her ex-husband, Ali Khatibi, have been annulled for “more than a year.” When asked about her previous marital status, Reyes opted not to publicize it, stating that it’s not something to “celebrate.”

“Matagal na, Tito Boy. Yes po, like more than a year. Kasi hindi ko naman siya in-announce eh,” she explained.

Reyes and Khatibi, who welcomed their daughter Amara in 2015 and got married a year later, faced breakup rumors in 2018, with the actress confirming their split in 2019.

Cristine Reyes confirmed her relationship with Marco Gumabao in April 2013, and Khatibi is currently in a relationship with his non-showbiz girlfriend, Dona Balmadrid.
