A popular social media challenge, the #KylieJennerChallenge, has recently gained attention, with participants attempting to emulate the pouty lips of American celebrity Kylie Jenner.
In a recent episode of GMA Network’s medical-themed program ‘Pinoy MD,’ the mishap of content creator Eys Hombre was featured. Known for her enthusiastic participation in various social media challenges, Hombre encountered unexpected consequences in her latest endeavor.
Hombre shared her experience of purchasing a suction tube device she found online and applying it to her lips. However, lacking knowledge on the appropriate duration for the procedure, she left it on for an unspecified period.
To her dismay, instead of achieving the desired results, Hombre’s lips became dark, swollen, and discolored. Even attempts with a fish-shaped lip plumper yielded unsatisfactory outcomes, leaving her lips bruised.
Following a week of treatment, Hombre’s lips eventually returned to normal. An expert who assessed her condition warned that prolonged use of the suction tube could have caused irreversible damage.

The doctor advised individuals seeking permanent lip enhancements to consider cosmetic procedures, which typically cost between ₱50k to ₱70k. However, it’s crucial to consult licensed estheticians or cosmetic surgeons to ensure a safe procedure.
Reflecting on her experience, Hombre acknowledged it as a “lesson learned,” emphasizing the importance of caution when participating in social media challenges.
