Comedian Bayani Agbayani has officially announced his entry into the political arena.
In an exclusive interview with Ogie Diaz on ‘Showbiz Update,’ Bayani revealed his plans to run as a nominee for the TUPAD party-list in the 2025 elections.
Bayani explained his decision: “Kinonsulta ko ‘yong mga kapatid ko, ‘yong asawa ko, dahil gusto ko talagang makatulong sa ating mga kababayan at siyempre kung wala ako sa posisyon maaaring hindi ko ‘to mabigyan ng 100 percent na pagtulong.”
He added that his decision was also spiritually guided, saying, “Ipinagdasal ko naman sa Panginoong Diyos at parang binigyan niya ako ng senyales.”
At 55, Bayani expressed a desire to create a lasting impact beyond his career in comedy. “Siguro kailangan naman akong magbigay ng legacy na tumulong sa kapwa ko, hindi lang ‘yung puro lang pagpapatawa,” he stated.
