Mocha Uson rumored to run for Congress in Manila

Social media personality and former Assistant Secretary of the Presidential Communications Group, Mocha Uson, is reportedly considering a bid for Congress under the banner of former Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno.

A recent social media post by Byron Cristobal featured Uson alongside Moreno, who is seeking to reclaim his position as mayor of Manila.

If Uson enters the congressional race, she would be challenging Congressman Joel Respall Chua, a vocal critic of Vice President Sara Duterte.

“District 3, are you ready? Ready ka na ba, Cong. Joel Respall Chua???” Cristobal’s post stated.

Uson has not yet confirmed her intention to run for office. Her potential candidacy could stir controversy given her history of contentious public statements and involvement in the dissemination of misinformation.

Uson’s political career has been marked by significant controversy due to her frequent spread of fake news and her provocative remarks targeting political opponents and minority groups. Her previous government roles have also faced criticism for perceived political motivations rather than merit-based appointments.
