Veteran journalist and former Vice President Noli De Castro has stirred conversation online after he referred to suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo as “kapal ng mukha” (shameless) during an episode of ‘TV Patrol.’
The incident took place while De Castro was presenting news about Guo, who is contemplating a run for reelection despite her suspension due to concerns over her citizenship status.
After wrapping up his report, De Castro’s candid comment about Guo was heard just moments before a news package by ABS-CBN journalist Zyann Ambrosio was aired.
Despite being suspended for allegedly questionable background and citizenship issues, Guo remains eligible to run for reelection as she has not been convicted of any crimes.
Viewers quickly took to social media to voice their reactions to De Castro’s statement, with many agreeing with his sentiments.
One netizen remarked, “I may not always agree with Kabayan, but I agree with him on this,” while another commented, “Hinde na kinaya ni Kabayan ang kapal ng mukha mo, Alice! Kapal kasi sobra.”

Alice Guo, whose real name was revealed to be Guo Hua Ping during a congressional investigation into Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs), is set to formalize her candidacy for mayor on October 8, the last day for filing certificates of candidacy (COC) for the upcoming 2025 elections.
Despite the controversies surrounding her, Guo appears determined to continue her political journey.
