- Smashing the stereotype of ‘Top or bottom’ culture
- Stop asking gays if they are top or bottom
Top glorifying and bottom shaming? Ugh. Still stuck in the early 2000’s? Fair warning, think of this article as a rant.
“T or b?”
Stop. If you’re thinking it’s a funny question, it’s not. Personally, every time I was asked this question, I freak out. It’s like answering a question that will soon be used for judging you. You know the stereotypes of top and bottom, right? They are not good.
Just to refresh you, these sexual roles are said to define who’s the man and the woman of the relationship. Like, that’s never the case. Gays chose to be gays because they don’t think being heterosexual don’t fit their sass. So never ever come up to me and say, ‘you’re the bottom so you are the girl in the relationship’. I won’t regret unleashing my manhood prowess just to shut you up.
Guys, c’mon. If we want to be tagged as the man or woman of the relationship, do you think we will ever choose to be gay? We might laugh at it, but darling dear, it’s not funny. We are beautiful just the way we are. No need to label us with such nonsense.
Yeah, yeah we know. Having a ‘girl’ in the relationship is a requirement in this patriarch-driven world. But mind you, we don’t live up to the world’s expectation. We are gay because we can be a man and a woman at the same time. We possess characteristics of both XX and XY chromosomes, you know. *well not biologically, you’ll figure this one out*
You heterosexuals can do your own thing, we can do ours.
Fun fact
Just because you figured out who’s more feminine in a gay relationship, doesn’t mean he’s the ‘bottom’. Living in a gay world will let you know that these signs never work for sexual preferences. I know a lot of masculine gays who plays bottom in bed and I know transexuals who like to keep it on top. *winks*
What I mean by this is, you can never call out someone for being a ‘bottom’ just because he’s soft. The same way you can never glorify masculine gay for being man-like. You don’t know yet how he is in bed.
Just a reminder, friends. Good day!
