VP Sara Duterte confirms viral TikTok dance video is authentic, not AI

According to Duterte, the video was made to help promote a content creator’s account.

Vice President Sara Duterte has confirmed that the viral TikTok video circulating on social media, showing her dancing, is genuine and not generated by artificial intelligence (AI).

In an interview on Tuesday, October 22, Duterte clarified that she personally participated in the video, which quickly gained attention online.

“Totoo iyon. Hindi AI ‘yung TikTok video ah. Ako iyon. Tatlong videos ‘yan,” Duterte stated, addressing speculation that the dance video was AI-generated.

According to Duterte, the video was made to help promote a content creator’s account. She explained that her colleague, who recently became a content creator, requested her help to increase their visibility on social media.

“Sabi ng kasama ko, ‘Content creator na ako. Puwede mo bang tulungan ‘yung account ko?’ Sinabi niya, ‘Pwede mo ba akong tulungan, i-promote mo ‘yung account ko.’ Then sinabihan ko siya, ‘Sure, maliit na bagay. Anong kailangan kong gawin?’ Sabi niya, ‘Sumayaw ka lang,’” Duterte recounted. “So tinuruan nila ako, and then sumayaw.”

The confirmation follows the video going viral after Duterte’s press conference on Friday, October 18, where she issued pointed remarks about President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his family.

Despite the political discussions, her lighthearted TikTok video has captured the public’s attention, sparking conversations across social media platforms.
