TV host and senatorial candidate Willie Revillame shared his admiration for former Vice President Leni Robredo after meeting her in Naga City, where he donated ₱3 million to aid residents affected by Typhoon Kristine.
Revillame traveled to Naga to personally deliver the donation to Robredo’s Angat Buhay Foundation, in coordination with Camarines Sur 3rd District Representative Gabriel Bordado Jr. The TV host, whose mother is from Naga, was deeply moved by the devastation in the area and felt compelled to help.
Robredo expressed her gratitude for Revillame’s gesture, noting his commitment to assess the situation firsthand. She offered to provide a receipt for the donation, but Revillame declined, saying it wasn’t necessary. Robredo, known for her transparency, replied that accounting is essential for their foundation’s operations.
Back on his show, ‘Wil To Win,’ Revillame reflected on the encounter, praising Robredo’s down-to-earth character and compassion. “She’s so simple and motherly,” he told his audience.
“Parang napakasarap yakapin na isang ina. Napakasimple. Sayang ngayon ko lang siya nakilala.”
Revillame also shared how moved he was seeing Robredo’s dedication to her work, as she continued to distribute relief goods across 12 barangays. The host noted that the visit reminded him of the importance of humility and genuine public service.
Robredo has yet to comment publicly on Revillame’s praise, but the interaction has gained attention online, with many netizens commending both public figures for their efforts in aiding typhoon-hit communities.
