- Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian explained the disadvantage of Keto Diet in weight loss program
- Keto Diet can have a negative effect if not regulated properly
Ketogenic Diet or simply known as Keto, according to Ruled.me, is a famous type of low carb diet where the body produces ketones in the liver to be used as energy. It made noise when several studies claimed that Keto Diet is good when you want to have an instant weight loss. But a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian from the Philippines explained why it is not.
Time To Speak Up
MissFia Nutritionist shared on her Facebook account that she was invited to talk by a top rating show in one of the two leading TV Stations in the country. Her topic? Keto Diet.
She pointed out that just like other RNDs, she would not recommend this type of diet for a ‘quick solution to fat loss program’. She can talk about its benefits, yes, but she acknowledges the fact that this course was designed to treat seizure attacks/insulin resistance. Take note that this should be supervised properly.
She then clarified that she is not anti-Keto, but firmly condemned the improper use of it.
“There’s a difference. And I’m not being paid or what for this post. I’m just stating a FACT. & that when it comes to DIET, ask a Registered DIETITIAN. Like any other Registered Nutritionist Dietitians here in the Philippines, it’s my responsibility to correct misinformations, and protect Nutrition,” she exclaimed.
Her post started to circulate online and now has more than 2,700 reactions and 1,980 shares.
