- Catering service did not show up on the day of the wedding itself
- Guests were given burgers and juice packs for the reception instead
Weddings are the most wonderful and magical event for every couple-in-love. Of course, as the most awaited event comes close, everything must be perfect and in place.
The gowns, tuxedos, the rings, invitations, the reception place, and…oh, the food-everything must be in order. Every detail must be checked and made sure until the last minute unless you want this to happen…
What was supposed to be a moment to remember just turned a moment to forget for this newly-wed couple when their caterer did not show up on their wedding day!
The bride, Mel Sanchez, was very disappointed when the caterer they hired for the wedding did not show up after what was a smooth transaction at first. According to the bride, they waited the whole day for the flowers and the food to arrive, however, there was no show or any contact at all from the caterer.
As shared by the bride, they only discovered the catering service through the internet. At first, the negotiation went well and everything seems legit because the caterer even made them sign a contract. They even paid them already 62,000 pesos for the service.
The whole day has already passed, only tables, chairs, and the photo booth came and there was still no sign of the food and caterer. Disappointed and ashamed of what happened, the newly-wed decided to just give out take-out burgers and juice packs for the invited guests.
“Nahiya did kami doon sa mga bisita although hindi naman sila nagpahalata na nagugutom sila… Siyempre ‘yung mga iba galing pa sa malalayong lugar. May isa nag-collapse pa after nung event sa sobrang gutom,” said Sanchez on an interview with ABS-CBN News.
After the wedding day, Sanchez found out that she was already blocked by the caterer in social media and is also not answering any of their texts.
The incident was already reported by Sanchez to Dasmariñas Barangay where they shockingly found out that there have already been four other reported complaints against the catering service.
“Yung pinaghirapan namin na savings sayang pero higit dun yung nasayang na moment dun sa kasal. Mabalik man ‘yung pera pero ‘yung lost moment hindi maibabalik,” said Sanchez on ABS-CBN News.
Ultimately, another events company offered to give the newly-wed a complete and free do-over of their wedding.
