Netizen asks People NOT to view Plus Size Women, Negatively

  • Netizen shares frustration over society’s negative perception on plus size women.
  • She further encouraged everyone to stop putting down other people.

We live in a society wherein people tell us that there’s an ideal description or image for everything. Where you shouldn’t be like this, but be like something you’re not.

She shared an inspiring message toward the plus size community. Kristine Ramos expressed her sentiments as to why the society only dictates that a certain size is sexy and others must conform to such standard.

“Why do people feel the need or feel like they have the right to tell me i’m fat. I know i’m fat. Ikaw panget ka does that give me the right to tell you panget ka? Does being fat make me less of a person? Does that mean i cant post a selfie? Or I cant dress up nicely? Na pag shorts bawal, kita bilbil bawal? Why does society say that a certain size is beautiful or sexy. A size 16 is too fat and a size 1 is too thin.” she wrote on her Facebook profile.

Kristine also questioned as to why can’t people all be beautiful and sexy. The “ideal image” that the society has given to people have caused them to question their physical appearance that leads to the decrease of self-confidence.

“I cant be in my closet and say “ oh! Nice dress, ill wear this.” Instead, Im always like nice “kaso sabihin nila ang taba ko. Or nice kaso ijujudge nila ako.” So dapat papayat muna ako before I can happily choose what to wear?”

“Fat people go through enough with people’s stare, they already know they’re fat. But cant we be fat and beautiful? Fat and smart? Fat and creative?”

She ended her post with a reminder that you are not helping by telling other people that they’re fat. She encouraged everyone to love yourself but at the same time, let others love them, too.
