- It’s Showtime’s Tawag ng Tanghalan finalist Anton Antenorcruz opens up about his previous marriage to another guy.
- Anton stated that it was a mistake and a result of his young self’s impulsive decisions.
Anton Antenorcruz‘s marriage a few years ago became a big deal to the public after photos and videos of the said ceremony spread throughout the internet.
What sparked the interest of the netizens was not the fact that he got married when he was 19 years old, but the fact that he married another guy.
At the launching of TNT records and contract signing of the finalists of It’s Showtime’s Tawag ng Tanghalan, Anton opened up about the said same-sex marriage. He told the members of the media that he didn’t expect the photos to be spread around since it has been five years since he got married and separated from his then partner.
He stated that the marriage was not a nice experience for him and he has learned from his mistakes. “So, nung lumabas yun, siyempre affected ako, kasi lumalaban ako, e. Parang more than the physical stress na nakukuha mo physically, parang emotionally stressed ka rin sa laban mo bilang may mga ganung issues.” he added.
Anton also admitted that he has done impulsive things before because he was young and didn’t think about the decision seriously.
“Kumbaga, yung mga life-changing decisions before, nung bata pa ako, di ko pa naisip ang importance ng mga ganun kalalaking decisions.
So, parang ayun lang po, medyo naano nga ako nun, bothered ako nung time na yun, kasi nga naiisip ko pa yun.”
And those were the reasons why he was bothered about the spread of said photos and videos. “Ang tagal ko nang ibinaon sa limot ‘tapos biglang lumabas pa,” he stated.
To cope with the situation, he stayed away from social media and refused to read any type of comments, but later on, realized that it was unfair to all his supporters.

When he was asked about the lessons he learned after the controversy, he answered “Well, ano po yun, yung mga uri ng pagkakamali na marami kang matututunan, na kahit na husgahan ka ng tao, e, matuto kang patunayan na mas… Kumbaga, na may mas maibubuga ka pa. Mas, kumbaga, hindi ka maliit na tao. Parang ganun. Then, ayun lang po… Yun naman yung mga nagpapalakas sa akin, yung mga napagdaanan kong problema.”
