- It’s Showtime hosts returned to their morning studio on Wednesday after the airing of their US tour shows.
- They explained that they will be temporarily using the old studio as their current setup is being upgraded
It’s pretty undeniable that ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime is one of the this generation’s most watched variety shows in the Philippines. But does anyone remember that it actually premiered as a morning talent program and was aired before the network’s former noontime show, Pilipinas, Game Ka Na Ba?
Along with the change of its time slot in 2012, they have also changed their studio.
On Wednesday, after airing the live telecast of their shows in the United States, the hosts reminisced memories as they surprised viewers by going to a “new” studio. They later revealed that it is actually not something new as it was where they originally taped the morning show.
The original mainstays, namely Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Kim Atienza, Teddy Corpus, and Jugs Jugueta, expressed how much they actually missed the old setup.
Curtis said that she felt goosebumps when she entered the studio, since it was almost eight years ago when they started there, “Parang nakakakilabot na pumasok dito, kasi para sa mga hindi po nakakaalam, almost eight years ago tayo nag-umpisa dito,”
“Parang bumalik lahat ng alaala, na parang ‘yung first show natin, kinakabahan tayo, kung magugustuhan ba kami ng madlang people. And we’re still here, going strong!”
Karylle went on and explained the real reason why they went back and said that it will only be temporary since their current studio is being renovated.
“Dito muna tayo habang inaayos at lalong pinapaganda ang dati nating tahanan. Talaga naman pinapa-bongga ang studio natin,”
The show will be celebrating its 9th anniversary on October 24.
