- Celebrities shared how they cope with the increased prices of almost everything because of the inflation.
- They also gave tips how to budget your money or earn extra income.
The rapid increase in the price of basic commodities does not only affect the masses, but celebrities as well.
Philippine Statistics Authority recently revealed that the Philippines inflation rate reached 6.4% in August, which is the highest it has been for the past nine years.
Some Kapamilya and Kapuso stars shared how they’re affected and how they cope with the situation.
Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Jaclyn Jose said that everytime she goes out to buy something, she noticed that the prices for everything were suddenly doubled. “Ako mismo, I go to the market pati ako nagdidiskarte, kailangan mong diskartehan kasi doble talaga.
“The usual food I ordered that me and my son are getting, makikita mo ngayon doble ang presyo, but the same lang yung order namin. So, ramdam na ramdam ko din talaga.”
She said that in order to budget her money wisely, she just thinks of ways to buy everything she needs.
“Halimbawa one kilo gagawin mong 3/4. I went to Mahogany market the other day in Tagaytay, I go to Farmers.
“Kapag hindi ka magdidiskarte walang mangyayari.”
Meanwhile, Jason Abalos shared that it’s a person’s choice how to adjust to the price increase.
For T.O.P member Adrian Pascual, Filipinos should learn how to be practical.
“Siguro practicality magiging praktikal.
Magluto kayo kaysa bumili kasi sobrang makakamura.”
ABS-CBN comedienne Pokwang also feels the effects of inflation. “Dati naggo-grocery ka P5,000, P10,000… ito lang ‘yun?“
Donna Cariaga is dismayed at the prices of vegetables in the country.
Singer-acress Bayang Barrios opened up how difficult it is for them as they do not earn on a regular basis.
On the other hand, some stars gave tips on how to cope with the situation. Miss Philippines World 2017 Laura Lehmann said that lessening your night-outs can be a big help, and Iza Calzado suggested for people to establish side businesses.
