When Jake Dodridge’s girlfriend dumped him because she felt the two of them don’t work as a couple anymore, he turned to eBay to find a replacement ‘girlfriend’ who would join him in a luxury cruise worth £650 (around P47,000) he originally planned to do with the girl who is now his ex.
He hadn’t intended to find a replacement at first. He actually tried to have the cruise tickets refunded but the travel company refused to do so.
With just a few weeks left for him to find a replacement, he took to eBay to find the right girl. The cruise does not come free for her, though, because he planned to have the girls bid out the spot – the good news is that it just starts at 99p!
Why is he auctioning the spot? Well, he doesn’t want to go on the cruise alone but couldn’t think of a person to bring along. I believe he is also trying to do so to spite his girlfriend; though I wouldn’t think she would be jealous if he finds another girl throughout an auction site!
He doesn’t want to spoil a ‘perfectly good holiday’, so he wants to enjoy this luxury trip with a girl who is ‘up for a laugh’. Dodridge admits he was upset that his girlfriend dumped him, but had come to realization that their relationship just wasn’t meant to be.
The eBay listing was already taken down. Blog sites who were following the listing reported that the last bid reflected on the ad before it was removed was £84 (around P6,000). Perhaps he already found a companion among his own family and friends or the lucky girl could have snagged the luxury deal for such a cheap price – or he might have made up with his ex?
