Hail to Sangobion Symptom Patrol

  • Studies show a large percentage of the population suffers from micronutrient deficiencies.
  • Sangobion launched Symptom Patrol on Twitter.
  • The Sangobion Symptom Patrol is not just novel, but very helpful in helping me monitor my blood health.

While I was browsing my Twitter account, I stumbled upon Symptom Patrol (@SymptomPatrol) an account that was Tweeting about the symptoms of Iron deficiency anemia. Intrigued, I decided to do some research about it and discovered that it was a campaign by Sangobion.

I learned in the Sangobion Facebook page that Symptom Patrol had an on-ground appearances in some Mercury Drug branches in Manila and Quezon City, and it hosted blood checks from October 19 to 30.

I did further reading and I found out that in the Philippines, studies show a large percentage of the population suffers from micronutrient deficiencies; and the most common is Iron deficiency anemia. 35% of sufferers are children while one out of four women of reproductive age are the most vulnerable.

Such condition develops when the blood is low in hemoglobin, a substance found in red blood cells that carries oxygen, due to a lack of iron in the body.

Iron Deficiency anemia can have a detrimental effect on the quality of life of people with Crohn’s or other forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Feeling symptoms like hilo, pagod at putla lately, the Sangobion Symptom Patrol is not just novel, but very helpful in helping me monitor my blood health.

With more Filipinos growing desensitized to the subtle symptoms, there is an urgent need to raise awareness for Iron Deficiency anemia.

It is great that pharma brands have efforts like Sangobion Symptom Patrol, that do great public service by helping people become aware of problems before it can get worse.
