Do you know where’s the newest playground for children?
Kids ages 6 to 12 can now party inside New York’s hottest night clubs. Held once a month, the dance parties feature child DJ’s and professional dancers to entertain children.
Fuzipop, a company that organises parties for kids at major night clubs in Manhattan, aims to “inspire the next generation of DJs, music producers, artists, dancers and music business moguls. Growing up in New York City is a unique one-of-a-kind experience and city kids deserve an event of the same stature.”
For $20, a parent and a child get to access a safe nightclub-like environment in The Big Apple. A family of four is charged $60.
Founded by couple Jesse Sprague and Jenny Song, the idea of a family entertainment business came up after they held their first son’s birthday party at one of the clubs where Sprague used to work.
Sprague, who worked as a DJ for 20 years explained the concept of their business: ”They get to come into a really cool space, socialize with their friends, get away from televisions, ipads and tablets, and come in and experience something that has a very cool vibe.”
Parents React
In one of the parties held, around 300 people including parents and kids attended. While kids can try their hands in the DJ booth, parents can enjoy a beer or vodka from the bar.
One of the parents in the party commented:
“I love it. My daughter’s having a great time. It’s a lot of fun. It’s also safe for the kids. It’s during the day, and they get to feel like grown-ups,” said Laura Lamper.
Meanwhile, Pier Singh, who brought her two sons Nico and Miles, thinks the event is a perfect family outing.
She said: “I think it’s really awesome. What kid doesn’t love dancing these days.”
