Soldier surprises his wife with a Dream Church Wedding

  • Soldier surprises wife with church wedding 10 years after civil rites
  • Her dream church wedding came slightly different than planned
  • Swordsmen were lined up as she was given the grand welcome for the military church wedding they planned for April

Every woman dreams of having a dream wedding that is well-planned in every detail, however for one Netizen, a dream wedding came unplanned and unexpected.

Charity Joy Depita, a Facebook user took pride in sharing how her husband Maj. Redenson Austria Depita of the Philippine Army’s 11th Infantry Division surprised her of a dream church wedding. The wedding happened this February in San Nicolas church in Iloilo as opposed to their original plan in April.

In Charity’s facebook post she said they were married through civil rites 10 years ago. Her husband Redenson told her that they will be attending as maid of honor and best man in a co-soldier’s wedding.

During the preparation for the wedding, she felt confused with the gown that she was asked to wear, however her husband told her that there will be a contest for the best gown. She even asked the make-up artists and photographers but to no avail, her inquiry didn’t earn any answer.

“He [make-up artist] said: ‘Sabi daw ni Sir pagandahin [kasi] contest. So, I have no choice na, naging sunud-sunuran na lang ako.”

When the confused “soon to be bride” was dressed up, the groom told her that there will be a bridal car that would fetch her and that he would go ahead to perform his duties as the best man.

“Nang makababa na ako ng car, nagulat ako nang nilagyan ako ng belo, lalo akong napaiyak… sabi ko nalang ‘akala ko ba April pa?’… Then I realized, wedding day ko na pala.”

The moment she reached the church, she was given a veil and surprised to see the wedding guests, including her parents at the venue.
That’s the time she realized that it was her own wedding.

She was given a grand welcome for the military church wedding where the swordsmen lined up, the same as they planned for April.

“Naglalakad ako na parang nakalutang, kahit wedding song habang naglalakad ako hindi ko marinig. ‘Di ko alam kung paano ako nakarating ng altar. Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala. Para akong na blackout,” she recalled.

The bride was concerned as she haven’t confessed as a requisite to the church wedding, but the priest allowed her to have her confession right before the wedding.

Planning the Big Day.

Redenson said he pushed through with the plan in 2018 to fulfill his wife’s wish for a church wedding. he mentioned via an online interview with ABS-CBN News.

“Kasi parang yearly, nagtatanong siya kung kailan kami ikakasal sa simbahan. So ‘yun ang nagtulak sa’kin.”

He informed their family and friends about the plan and asked not to tell his wife about it. He also said that the outfits and the venue were delicately planned to preserve the element of surprise.

He even reached to a point where he took his wife’s phone so she wouldn’t get any details from other people.

“Masasayang po kasi (It will all come to waste),” he said, referring to the efforts he made to make the plan possible.

Redenson also said that the wedding was supposed to happen in 2018 but they postponed and moved it to April in time for their anniversary month. “Hindi naman ako perfect, but I will do my best na magibg mabuting husband,” he said.

He mentioned that he didn’t expect his wife’s post will be viral online. But after all, he said the effort was for their future they will face together.
