Woman turns down a flirty guy whose idea of having a wife is one who does all the cooking

  • But modern women are empowered, independent, and educated
  • She turned him down because she doesn’t like his point of view in thinking that a wife’s job was only to cook
  • All she wanted for the guy is to set his views that a wife is not someone who only cooks for a man and it shouldn’t be the standard

Way back in history, women had no equal rights with men. They were considered chattel, or personal property, being underestimated and underprivileged to seek education. That is why their only obligation was to serve their husband by doing all the house chores.

But modern women are empowered, independent, and educated. Just like this young lady who disagrees with a man who has the parochial idea of having a wife who would only cook from him.

A Twitter user, Kohlin‏ @AcetylKohlin, posted a photo of her conversation with a man who was flirting with her. The guy asked her if she is wife material by giving his idea that a wife can handle cooking for him.

“May maiisip ka ba sa sarili mo kung wifey material ka haha tulad ng kunware lilipat tayo sa America can you handle mag cook ng oatmeal sakin and eggs”

Kohlin immediately turned him down because she doesn’t like his point of view in thinking that a wife’s job was only to cook after completing her academic degree.

“I didn’t graduate with flying colors just to cook oatmeal and eggs for you; can’t you handle that with your own hands? If you think your wife’s job is to cook for you, then you don’t deserve one.”

The guy replied that he has a lot of respect on what she said, thinking that Kohlin would ride along with what he said. That made him think that he is not the cool, and perhaps the ugly guy, she loves to meet.

“Kalma lang ang seryoso mo! Have a lot of respect sa sinabi mo kala ko lang naman makikisabay ka sa sinabi ko. Kohlin kung naisip o na hindi ako cool and panget kilalanin, you can just walk away now.”

Kohlin made him understand what she meant. All she wanted for the guy is set his views that a wifey material is not about someone who can cook for a man and it shouldn’t be the standard.

A netizen also commented and shared his opinion that there is nothing wrong for a wifey material that can take care of her family, which includes cooking. And making a home is what matters most, regardless of who is doing it.

She agrees with his opinion, but the guy who flirted with her thinks that women should be the one to do all the cooking, based on a gender role that has been practiced for ages.
