A hit-and-run incident happened in Makati involving the “Starstruck” Season 6 Ultimate Male Survivor Migo Adecer on Tuesday night, March 26. While the artist was driving a white Subaru BRZ, he struck two employees of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) who were riding a motorcycle.

The assistant chief of police for operations of the Makati City Police, Maj. Gideon Ines, said that after the suspect struck the victims identified as Rogelio Formelos Castillano and Michelle Gallova Papin, instead of helping the victims, the suspect took off.

Upon witnessing the incident, the traffic enforcers chased the artist and the bystanders rushed the victims to a nearby hospital in Makati. The suspect was cornered along N. Garcia St. as reported by Police Col. Rogelio Simon, chief of police of Makati City. He became unruly and refused to surrender his license. The artist even attempted to escape the arrest and hit a police car.

“Inipit namin ‘yung kaniyang sasakyan kaya hindi na siya makaabante… Inatras niya ngayon ‘yung kaniyang sasakyan at nabangga itong nakaharang na mobile namin,” he said.

According to the police officer, he was under the influence of alcohol.

“Halatang lango siya sa alak. Kinakausap namin, wala sa sarili. Nagsisigaw-sigaw,” he added.

On Tuesday afternoon, Adecer was also involved in another traffic violation in Rockwell for driving recklessly and surrendered his driver’s license. Now, the police who were investigating the confiscated license on Tuesday night said it was fake.

Because of the incident, Adecer will face charges for reckless imprudence resulting to physical injuries and damage to property and disobedience to a person in authority.

On Wednesday, Adecer was released from detention after posting bail and said that he had learned a lot from the incident that happened. In behalf of Migo Adecer, his lawyer, Marie Glen Abraham- Garduque, was the one who became his spoke person.

“This was not a good experience to Migo, but he learned a lot from this. He would like to apologize to all the persons who had been adversely affected by this incident,” his lawyer Marie Glen Abraham-Garduque said in a statement.

During the investigation, he apologized to the police authorities on what had happened as a result of mixed emotions and confusion, during the situation, “He already said sorry to the police authorities, explaining to them that disobeying them is his most remote intention. Whatever he said and done was just a product of mixed fear and confusion because of the situation,” Abraham-Garduque added.

He thanked the two MMDA employees who withdrew their complaints, whom he had struck by a sports car. And he is willing to shoulder the hospital expenses of the two who are still recovering at a hospital in Makati.

“He would like to say thank you as well to the two victims, who are kind enough to forgive him and decided to desist in filing any legal action against him,” the lawyer said.
