- George Belarmino is paralyzed from the waist down and is unable to walk
- But that did not stop him from being a contributing member society by selling vegetables
- Netizens were inspired by his story
People with disabilities are considered liabilities by many. While they may have physical limitations, they are in no way useless or a burden on society.
George Belarmino is a PWD who makes up for his physical shortfalls. His story was featured in Maalaala Mo Kaya back in 2017, which inspired a lot of people.
Belarmino is an easy target for muggers and he has been victimized before. He said that he felt discouraged because he couldn’t do anything about it but seeing people inspired by his story makes him feel a lot better.
He has a sidecar attached to his motorcycle. Amazingly he is able to drive it without using his feet as he is permanently paralyzed from the waist down.
Letlet Lector, a netizen, posted photos of Belarmino on Facebook to let everyone know that the ‘super tatay’ is back on streets.
Belarmino sells a variety of fruits and vegetables using his motorcycle. He is determined to make a living to support his family who relies on him.
The Sikkap Pwd Tiaong (Samahang Isinusulong ang Kapakanan ng mga may Kapansanan) is supporting Belarmino in his business.
“Kuya George—ang muling pagbabalik. Sa mga mamimili po ng panghanda sa fiesta o sa lulutuin/kakainin n’yo sa pang-araw-araw, mag-iikot po si Kuya George Belarmino ngayon sa bayan para magtinda ng gulay,” Lector wrote.
Belarmino has rounds where he would drive through Tiaong on specific routes. Netizens said that they would buy from him if they see him.
“Kuya daan ka po dto sa Ilaya kapag may tinda ka uli.”
“Kua George Baka. Po. Kailangan nio. Nang tinder”
“You are an inspiration!”
“ Kuya George daan ka po d2 sa gym,”
