Love can happen anytime.
John, 100, and Phyllis, 103, are from Kingston Residence of Sylvania in Ohio, a senior home.
They met there and soon knew that they were right for each other.
They dated for a year and then decided to get married.
Kingston Residence of Sylvania posted it on their Facebook page.
“At the young ages of 103 and 100 years old they decided to get married! It’s never too late to find love! Join us in congratulating the happy couple!”
The couple got married on the spot, but initially went to a courthouse to get a license.
John detailed how excited he was to get married.
John said, “It wasn’t the plan, but we got here and they said, ‘We could marry you here.’ I said, ‘Good, let’s get it over with.’”
Phyllis said that what happened might seem strange and unusual, even impossible, but they were madly in love with each other.
“I know you think that may be a little bit farfetched for somebody our age, but we fell in love with each other.”
Both have been divorced twice in the past, and this was their third and final time at love.
“We were just compatible in a whole lot of ways, found ourselves enjoying each other’s company,” John said.
They give each other the space that is needed.
“What we do, we keep both of our apartments. He’s upstairs, and I’m down,” Phyllis said.
When asked what they’re favorite thing to do together was, John responded: “Well, I probably shouldn’t talk about that.”
They spend their days eating, sitting in the sun, and riding the halls of the Kingston Residence of Sylvania in their mobility scooters.
