One netizen posted her encounter with an old man who touched her heart. Facebook user Peng Contreras Carpo said that she got in a jeepney on the way somewhere when she noticed that almost all of the passengers were covering their noses.
She didn’t get it at first, but little by little, she started noticing the unpleasant smell. It was coming from an old man.
At one point in their journey, the driver stopped the vehicle and told the old man to get out because of his smell and other passengers were starting to complain. The old man looked teary-eyed as the driver was telling him to go down.
That’s when Peng said that he’ll just pay for the man’s fare so that the driver won’t force him anymore. That’s when the old man spoke up.
Peng also learned that the man, named Bert, was from Guimaras and went to Iloilo to get a job but due to his age, he could not get one.
This lead him to ask people for money on the streets. He was also having a hard time talking and walking because he had suffered a stroke.
As the passengers got embarrassed by their actions before even knowing the old man’s story, Ping shared a little advice to everyone.
