A 74-year old woman is going viral on social media for spending her money on donating relief goods to those affected by Taal Volcano instead of throwing herself a big birthday party.
Sherwin Mulingtapang went on Facebook and shared how proud she was of her mother.
His mother, Belen, had already planned to throw a big birthday party for herself as she will be turning 75 this January 24.
Everything was already set, they had prepared the band, food, lights and sounds, etc. They even hired a gown designer.
But Belen canceled everything and decided that the money for her birthday will be better spent to buy relief goods for those affected by Taal Volcano’s recent activities.

Sherwin said that she was inspired by other people she saw on social media helping those who were in need. This only made her happier because she was involved in something that inspired her.

Netizens were also inspired and praised the senior citizen.
